It has been quite some time since I last blogged on my website. That’s something you have to expect of a professional copywriter who spends nearly all of his working life writing blog posts for other people, of course. That said, I have been remiss and at least one or two posts should have made it to publication in the last few months.
Consequently, I wanted to blog about what a busy year it has been writing on a huge variety of different subjects in 2022 with everything from funeral arrangements to the growing almond production market in Australia featuring in my in-tray. I don’t mind the variation in the subject matters though. Writing is at its most rewarding when you are learning about a given subject matter as much as explaining it.
I’ve also enjoyed plenty of translation work over the course of the last twelve months. Typically, I’ve been creating UK or US English language versions of pre-existing websites. This has meant I’ve needed to upskill with certain formatting issues to keep the brand consistent across multiple languages – not to mention the wording I’ve selected, often in niche or technical areas.
Over the course of 2023, I intend to devote a bit more time to my website and plan to blog a bit more frequently – a bit more frequently than hardly ever would not exactly be the hardest New Year’s resolution to adhere to, after all. I’m keen to share some insights into what makes some blogs more effective than others, why keyword variation is crucial for SEO and how we can all improve our online presence with some carefully chosen texts. Check back in the coming weeks and months for advice on blogging, digital marketing through web copy and much more besides.
